Answers Before You Get In Touch
The questions we're asked most, about who does the work, what areas we cover and how a project runs. If your question isn't here, our contact page is the quickest way to ask it directly.
Where is Trackrecord Construction based and which areas do you cover?
Trackrecord Construction is based in Crownhill, Milton Keynes. The team works across Milton Keynes, Northampton and Bedford as well as the wider Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire area.
Who does the work on my project?
Our own in-house team, not subcontractors. Electricians, carpenters, plumbers and groundworks specialists all work for Trackrecord Construction directly. The same people are accountable from the first day to the last.
How experienced is the team?
Nathan Howard, who leads Trackrecord Construction, has over 30 years' trade experience across glazing, carpentry, extensions and full property restorations, including 17 years running construction sites and teams. He's currently working through NEBOSH and NVQ qualifications in construction and project management.
What kind of projects do you take on?
House extensions, home renovations, kitchen and bathroom fitting, loft conversions, garage conversions, basement conversions, SIP panel builds and commercial or industrial fit-outs and refurbishments. If your project doesn't fit neatly into one of these, get in touch and we'll tell you honestly whether it's something we can help with.
Will I have one point of contact for the whole project?
One team runs your project from start to finish. You won't be chasing different subcontractors for updates.
I'm not sure exactly what I need yet, can you still help?
A site visit is the usual starting point. We'll look at what you've got, talk through what's realistic and tell you plainly whether it's worth pursuing.
Do you require a deposit?
A deposit is required. The amount depends on the size and scope of the build, up to 25% on larger projects. The remainder is paid in stages as the work progresses.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payment by bank transfer.
How is payment staged across a project?
Payments are staged around agreed milestones through the build rather than one lump sum at the end. Your deposit and staging schedule are agreed before work starts.
Do you offer finance?
Finance options are available. This means the scope of your project isn't limited by what's available upfront. Ask us for details when you get in touch.
Do you provide a written, itemised quote?
Quotes are sent by email with a full breakdown of the work involved. You can see exactly what you're paying for before agreeing to anything.
Do you offer free, no-obligation quotes?
We visit the site first and quote based on what we find there, free of charge and with no obligation to proceed.
What's different about a SIP panel build compared to a traditional extension?
A SIP panel build uses structural insulated panels instead of brick and block. The structural shell goes up faster as a result. Our SIP panel building page covers the full comparison.
Do you handle planning permission and Building Regulations?
We'll tell you upfront whether your project needs planning permission or falls under permitted development. Building Regulations sign-off is handled as part of the build either way.
What if my project is a mix of things, like an extension and a kitchen renovation together?
That's normal for us. Since every trade is in-house, we sequence the whole project as one job rather than treating each part separately.
Do you offer commercial and industrial work as well as residential?
Office and retail fit-outs, industrial space upgrades, maintenance and internal restructuring are all covered, scheduled around your business staying open. Our commercial builders page covers this in more detail.
Do you guarantee your work?
All building work carries a 12-month guarantee.
How can I get in touch?
Phone or WhatsApp are the quickest ways to reach us. You can also use the contact page to send your details and we'll get back to you.
What are your opening hours?
We're available 8am to 5pm.
Do you need to visit before giving me a quote?
A site visit comes before any quote, not after. We'll arrange a time that works for you once you get in touch.
Can I sign up for updates from Trackrecord Construction?
We publish a quarterly newsletter covering company updates, seasonal offers and general building tips. Ask us to add you when you get in touch.
What happens after I make contact?
Expect a call to arrange a visit first. Once we've seen the property and talked through what you want, a fixed quote follows within a few days.
Do you offer emergency or urgent call-outs?
Emergency and urgent call-outs are available beyond our standard hours, past 5pm when needed.
